Suboxone Treatment

Outpatient Suboxone Doctors in Shreveport

HOPE Recovery Clinic prescribes Suboxone and other buprenorphine medications for opioid addiction at our clinic on Boulevard Street in Shreveport. We have been treating opioid use disorder here since 2020, and patients come to us from across Shreveport, Bossier City, and the surrounding area.

Suboxone works best alongside support, so every patient gets a provider who manages their medication and a care plan that includes counseling. Treatment is outpatient: you keep your job, live at home, and take your medication on your own schedule.

Buprenorphine Options We Prescribe

  • Suboxone: buprenorphine and naloxone in a film that dissolves under the tongue. The most common starting point.
  • Zubsolv: the same two medicines in a small tablet that dissolves under the tongue.
  • Subutex (buprenorphine): buprenorphine on its own, without naloxone.
  • Sublocade: a monthly buprenorphine injection, so there is no daily dose to remember.

Your provider will help you choose the option that fits your health, your history, and your routine. Read more about medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and our opioid addiction treatment program.

Buprenorphine, Not Methadone

We are not a methadone clinic. Buprenorphine is taken at home or given as a monthly injection, so there is no daily dosing line.

More Than a Prescription

Current patients get free monthly group counseling and complimentary drug screening to help them stay on track.

Suboxone Questions

Straight answers about starting Suboxone in Shreveport. Call (318) 828-2520 for anything not covered here.

Suboxone contains buprenorphine, which attaches to the same receptors in the brain as other opioids but only partially activates them. That is enough to calm withdrawal and cravings without the strong high. It also contains naloxone, which discourages misuse. With withdrawal under control, you can focus on work, family, and counseling.

Call us or send a message to schedule your first visit. Your provider will review your health and opioid use and tell you when to take your first dose. Timing matters: Suboxone is started once you are already in some withdrawal. Taking it too soon can bring on sudden, intense withdrawal, so follow your provider’s instructions closely, especially if you have been using fentanyl. Our new patient page explains what to bring.

No. Suboxone is a prescribed, medically supervised treatment for opioid use disorder. Taken as prescribed, it does not produce the high or the cycle of chasing and withdrawal that comes with addiction. It gives your brain and your life room to stabilize.

All four use buprenorphine. Suboxone (a film) and Zubsolv (a tablet) also contain naloxone and dissolve under the tongue. Subutex is buprenorphine alone. Sublocade is a once-a-month injection given at the clinic. Your provider will help you decide which fits you best.

Often, yes, but the switch has to be planned carefully with a provider. Talk with us before changing anything on your own.

HOPE Recovery Clinic does not bill insurance for office visits. Many insurance plans and Louisiana Medicaid do cover buprenorphine medication at the pharmacy. See our pricing page or call us and we will walk you through the costs.

When you are ready, yes. Our providers have a strong track record of helping patients taper off buprenorphine safely, at a pace that protects your recovery.
